There are two parts to the offer:

Part 1:Midea is offering you a rebate for past energy usage. Your payment will reflect the difference between the energy use listed on your unit at the time of purchase and the average energy consumption based upon DOE tests of a sample of four freezers.
This is a one-time payment based on average energy cost as reported by the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

Part 2: Midea will also make payments to you for future energy usage, also based on average annual energy cost as reported by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Your payment will reflect the difference between the energy use listed on your unit at the time of purchase and the average energy consumption based upon DOE tests of a sample of four freezers. These payments will be made to you every year over the course of the expected useful life of your freezer.
